Trust & safety at SameAcres
Why SameAcres is safe
SameAcres is built for parents and carers of neurodivergent children. Safety isn't an add-on — it's the way every screen, profile and message is designed.
Parent-only platform
Every account belongs to a parent or carer. Children never sign in, never have profiles, and never appear in chat.
Location protection
We never display exact addresses, postcodes, street names, schools, or distances. You only ever see a broad area like 'Birmingham Area'.
Verified Parent badges
Optional government-ID review adds a Verified Parent badge — and let you filter discover for verified families only.
Safer chat
Phone numbers, emails, links and addresses are automatically hidden until both parents accept the connection.
Reporting on every surface
Every profile and conversation has a Report option. Our team reviews every report — quickly and confidentially.
Easy blocking
Block any user in one tap. Blocks are silent, permanent, and prevent contact in both directions.
Active moderation
A trained moderation team reviews flagged content, verifies parents, and removes accounts that don't follow our community standards.
Safe meetup guidance
Whenever families plan to meet, we surface gentle reminders: public places, another adult along, your instincts come first.
You control what you share
Other families first see only your first name, your child's nickname, an age range, shared interests and a broad area. Everything else is yours to share when — and only when — you're ready.
- Stage 1. Visible to potential matches: first name, child nickname, age range, interests, broad area.
- Stage 2. After both parents accept: family bio, support needs, sensory preferences.
- Stage 3. Anything personal — surnames, neighbourhoods, contact details — only if you choose to share.
Safer messaging by default
Before two parents have mutually connected, our system automatically hides:
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- External links
- Street addresses
- Postcodes & ZIPs
